Los Angeles Art Week just ended. But there are definitely still lots of things to see and resources from art week that you can still utilize!
So, what is Los Angeles Art Week?
Los Angeles Art Week began in 2019 and has now become a staple week filled art fairs, openings, and exhibits including Frieze LA and Felix LA. Established and budding galleries are able to showcase artists' work to a wider audience, and creatives are essentially able to "gallery-hop" through a series of different exhibits.
Okay, but it's over?
Unfortunately, the week runs from February 28 to March 3rd. But, there are always amazing things happening in the local art scene and Los Angeles art week brought attention to exhibits we think you should see.
First, check out Art Week or CurateLA for exhibit information. The Art Week website provides a calendar of current and future exhibits in Los Angeles (and other cities). This website is not limited to the past art week, but rather works as a "platform for discovering art". CurateLA is also an art platform that covers a broader range of openings and exhibitions.
Los Angeles Times recently published an article about galleries hosted "at-home" in residential spaces around the city. This may mean art is showcased in laundry rooms, garages, or your neighbor's backyard. The article runs through the history of domestic galleries in Los Angeles, but there is also information about galleries that you can currently visit.
Sometimes, they're pretty hard to find, but here are a few places you can start:
Del Vaz Projects | |
Jacob's | |
Quarters | |
Arvia | |
O-Town House | |
Sea View Gallery |
We at FERAL think that the domestic galleries allow more accessibility to art and allows artists to showcase their work without the constraints of getting into a gallery. The "at-home" gallery also allows artists to curate a more intimate viewing of their work and perhaps a more representative presentation of themselves.
What would your exhibit look like if you hosted it in your home?

An at home art show is something I've been thinking about doing - I'm a dancer so my garage is a finished art space. I was thinking it would be fun to hold an art show for a holiday and have everyone make a piece and hang them on the wall, and have a ton of little finger foods so people could snack and walk around and look at the art.
